Opening status checked October 22, 2026: the Town still lists Switchyard businesses as coming soon. Postino’s own page gives a 2026 opening window, without a firm day; the Town’s October presentation anticipates late October for Postino and phased commercial openings into early 2027.
The sign is lit. The restaurant names are up. The Switchyard is starting to look like a place to spend an evening in downtown Queen Creek.
Our October 17, 2026, footage shows gold lettering, installed Postino and Snooze signs, a covered patio and fresh landscaping. Those details make the development easier to picture as a destination: somewhere to meet friends, walk between businesses and settle in for a meal.
But the signs are ahead of the opening celebrations. The Town still lists the businesses as coming soon, and construction equipment was visible in our October 17 footage. Here is what is taking shape, which names are confirmed, and what the latest official update says about opening.
What stands out on the ground
Postino and Snooze are the names that immediately pull your attention. Seeing them on actual buildings makes this feel more concrete than another rendering or announcement.
The smaller details help, too. There is a covered patio, new walkways and rows of barrel cactus that give the outdoor spaces some shape. The landscaping is worth a closer look: those repeated cactus forms add a distinctly desert touch alongside the storefronts.
The spaces between the businesses are part of the appeal. Postino’s patio has a roof overhead, ceiling fans and railings along the seating area. The paths and planting beds give the storefronts a setting beyond the parking spaces. It is easy to imagine a slower visit here once the businesses welcome guests.

Where The Switchyard is taking shape
The Switchyard sits at the northeast corner of Ellsworth Loop and Ocotillo in downtown Queen Creek. Be sure to look for Ellsworth Loop when locating it; that is the intersection used in the Town's project information.
The official project website describes a 10-acre development bringing together dining, retail and housing. Developer Creation says it is working with Horizon Real Estate, with LGE Design Build leading construction. Restaurants, shops and office space are part of the commercial side; multifamily housing is planned for a later phase.
The aerial image below offers an earlier look at how the buildings fit into the surrounding area. It was filmed September 27, so it should be read as a view of the layout, not a substitute for the newer street-level photographs.

Which restaurants and businesses are coming?
The Town's current coming-soon list names nine businesses at this intersection. The project website also lists PopUp Bagels and VIO Med Spa in its own retailer grid, bringing the combined announced lineup to:
- Dining: Postino Wine Cafe, Snooze, Shake Shack, Bamboo Sushi, Salt & Straw and PopUp Bagels.
- Shopping, fitness and services: ROOM and PORCH, [solidcore], Zara Nail Bar, Edward Jones and VIO Med Spa.
That is a useful mix to watch: breakfast and brunch, wine, burgers, sushi and ice cream, along with businesses people might visit during an ordinary weekday. Their individual opening announcements will determine when that mix becomes a place to spend the day.
Bamboo Sushi adds a particular point of interest. Creation's tenant announcement describes this as the Portland-founded restaurant's Arizona debut. The same announcement identifies ROOM and PORCH as a home goods and lifestyle store, Zara Nail Bar as a nail salon and Edward Jones as a financial-services office.

When will The Switchyard open?
The clearest current timeline comes from the Town's October development update. Pages 8–9 place commercial openings in the fourth quarter of 2026 and first quarter of 2027. The presentation says Postino is anticipating a late-October opening and is expected to be the first tenant to open.
Late October is a target, not a confirmed opening day. The wider timeline also points to an opening sequence: the first restaurant welcoming guests would not mean every storefront opens with it.
Postino’s own Queen Creek page currently announces a 2026 opening and invites people to sign up for opening news. Its listed address is 21791 S. Ellsworth Loop Road, Suite 101.
The Town’s October 22 coming-soon list still includes Snooze. Its Queen Creek location page is another place to look for an announcement, although we could not retrieve it afresh for this update. The official pages are useful places to check as the opening window approaches; the materials reviewed for this story do not establish a complete tenant-by-tenant opening calendar.
What we are still waiting for
The next useful updates are specific: an opening day from each business, posted operating hours and confirmation that guests can come in. Those are the details to check before making dinner or brunch plans around a particular storefront. The Town's presentation also leaves the later residential phase's timing to be determined.

For now, The Switchyard has reached a fun stage to follow. The names are real, the outdoor spaces are taking shape, and you can begin picking the place you want to try first. The next chapter will be the businesses themselves: the patios in use, the first meals and the first guests walking through the doors.
Elsewhere in Queen Creek, we are also following Barnes & Noble's arrival at Queen Creek Marketplace.
